Course Details

A foundation programme or foundation course is designed to prepare secondary school graduates adequately to be able to gain admission to a Bachelor’s or undergraduate degree programme at an international university. Our Foundation programme establishes a pathway for students wishing to gain seamless entry into undergraduate programmes at the Lancaster University Ghana Campus (LUG), Lancaster University campus in the United Kingdom or any other international university. It is also the only programme in Sub-Saharan Africa to have received full accreditation by the British Accreditation Council. Path into our degree programs includes; Accounting & Finance, Economics & International Relations, Business Studies, Marketing, Law, Politics & International Relations, Computer Science. You must be at least 17 years old and must also meet the applicable academic requirement for the results you are applying with. A list of detailed requirements is on the right side of this page. Students who excel academically have the opportunity to be placed on the Provost’s List, a prestigious award recognised by prospective employers.

English Language Requirement

Lancaster University Ghana, will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
